Corkin Good Stories* by Dave Gibson

I am a 57 year old follower of Jesus and I am thrilled about it.  The day I came to faith in Christ redefined my life and my eternity—thank You God!

In the good and winding journey since trusting Christ I have been a son, a brother, a student, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a friend, on rare occasions an enemy, a forester, a Bible College teacher, a writer, a woodworker, a camper, a traveler, and a pastor.

One of the happy parts of my journey now is that I am finally figuring out my gifts—creative communication, participative team leadership, and problem surmounting—and also my passions—the pursuit of God, pursuit of my family, and the restoration of waste places.

The summary of those passions I have abbreviated as: “T3.”

T3 stands for transformation in three areas:

  • Depending on God and personally striving for personal transformation.
  • Catalyzing and motivating transformation in others.
  • Catalyzing and motivating transformation in systems—schools, churches, families.

Clearly I am not the man that God envisioned when He rescued me.  It is in my heart to grow toward that vision.  Additionally I want to have a part in assisting that growth and transformation in others and in human systems.

Bottom line:  I love seeing growth and maturity. I am jacked about seeing transformation—in me, in others, and in systems.  This is hard-wired in me by the goodness of my Great Creator.

The stories and articles on this site are, in one way or another, focused on transformation.  I hope you will read a few and I hope they will help you be a little more like the person that God envisioned when He rescued you—or a little more like the person who is ready to be rescued by God through Jesus.

*”Corkin Good Stories was the most humble name I could think of at the time but I am sure that I could think of something more humble if I put my mind to it.
